First, the shop in itself is the only of its kind from what’s inside to its amazing historical location in St. George. And my story next: I teach in the district here and had a mishap at a concert where a violin was completely smashed beyond repair. A team of my students worked with The Violin Gallery about the situation. Chris immediately took action to surprise my student with a new violin. So, I say from the inside out; from the human that puts his soul into his passion to the beautiful quality that comes out, thank you, Chris for bringing your energy, expertise, and The Violin Gallery itself to the area!

It’s not every day a professional luthier selects the perfect piece from his hand-crafted collection to represent your love story and musical history. Chris Hobson made us feel so special in his shop. My husband and I are both professional musicians and highly recommend Chris. We loved hearing his story and we share in his belief that music is a healing power in the world. Words can’t describe how excited we were to have our friend play Chris's beautiful Alaskan Tonewood cello (where our family members live and where we got engaged) with an abalone inlaid bow in memory of my cousin, a professional cellist, at our wedding ceremony in Springdale, Utah. What an incredible experience. It sent chills down my spine. Working with Chris was a dream- great communication, on time, and he even let us borrow some photo-ready music stands, too! An amazing man!

This place is incredible! My mom and I came across this shop while visiting St. George. Chris has a beautiful selection of instruments that he has made that can suit any age and ability. The proprietor is a great man. He makes and sells violins, and cellos. He is a trained, experienced concert violinist. He also collects and sells old violins. When I found this place, I didn't know I was in for such a pleasant experience.
