A student cello rental should fit comfortably, play reliably and be ready for school orchestra from the beginning.
Violin Gallery offers cello rentals throughout St. George and Southern Utah in 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full size. We help determine the appropriate size, professionally set up the cello before it goes home and remain available whenever the student or instrument needs support.
Because cellos are larger and more vulnerable during transport than violins or violas, we also help families understand how to move, store and handle the instrument safely between home, school and rehearsals. All cello rentals come in a hard foam case.
Eligible rental payments can also be banked toward a qualifying future instrument purchase under the current rent-to-purchase program.
Violin Gallery’s rental program is designed as rent-to-purchase rather than simply rent-to-own. As a cellist progresses, the better long-term goal may be an intermediate or advanced cello with more response, tonal depth and room for musical growth rather than permanently owning the original rental-level instrument.

Violin Gallery offers cello rentals in 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full size. The right size helps the player sit comfortably, reach the fingerboard and bow naturally, and develop better playing habits without unnecessary strain. We help determine the appropriate size when the rental begins.
Sizing Help and Exchanges We help determine the appropriate cello size based on the player’s height, reach, and comfort. As the student grows, the cello rental can change with them according to current program terms.
Transport Guidance Cellos are larger and more vulnerable during transport than violins or violas. Many families choose to play a school instrument, which remains at the school, and keep our Violin Gallery cello rental at home. If you do decide to transport your cello to and from school or other locations, we help families understand how to carry, store and move the instrument safely between home, school and rehearsals.
Routine Support Bring the cello back for appropriate tuning help, normal setup adjustments, string support and other routine rental support covered by the program.*
